Beginning in the 1960s, Mazda put a major engineering effort into development of the Wankel rotary engine as a way of differentiating itself from other Japanese auto companies. Mazda made huge advancements in ’67 and ’68, with full-scale exports to the European market; the Cosmos (110S), which was the first rotary vehicle, was introduced along with the Mazda 1000 and 1200. Mazda also reached a technical collaboration agreement with Kia Motors Corp. The Familia Rotary Coupe, or R100 was also released.

This effort to bring attention to itself apparently helped, as Mazda rapidly began to export its vehicles. By 1970, the company entered the United States market, where it introduced a line of high-performance and luxury vehicles.

Models that are sold only in the United States include the Mazda 3, Mazdaspeed3, Mazda 5, Mazda 6, Mazdaspeed6, CX-7, CX-9, MPV, MX-5 Miata, Tribute, the B-Series truck and the RX-8.

To go with OEM or aftermarket parts? It’s a tough question. And a lot of people will give you different answers and explanations if you ask them. Names such as Mazda are known for their quality and durability. It’s definitely no wonder Mazda remains popular. If you own a Mazda and for some reason need parts changed, you’re probably thinking about whether to purchase Mazda OEM parts or aftermarket parts.

To go with OEM or aftermarket parts? It’s a tough question. And a lot of people will give you different answers and explanations if you ask them. So the first thing you should do, when considering purchasing Mazda OEM parts is to do a little research. The internet is a valuable resource for information, so make use of it. Check reviews for the parts in question. See which seems to be the better purchase.

The first thing that a lot of shoppers will look at, no matter what it is they’re buying is the price tag. Is the price justifiable or not? Can I afford this? These are just some of the questions running through the head of anyone looking to make a purchase. In a way it could also go with someone looking for car parts. OEM parts are generally much more expensive than their aftermarket counterparts. So think carefully about the choice you’re about to make.

Mazda OEM parts as with most OEM parts are usually, though not always better than their aftermarket counterparts. After all OEM parts are manufactured by the same company that makes the car’s official parts. So fit and function should be just right. However there are cases when an aftermarket part is better developed than its OEM counterpart. Sometimes aftermarket developers manage to see problems in the original development of the parts; hence they find ways to counteract the flaws of the original.

The choice is definitely not an easy one; Mazda OEM parts or aftermarket? Getting the best deal out of a purchase will entail a little research on your part. But if you manage to get the best possible part for your vehicle that won’t get worn out easily and will perform well, you definitely won’t regret it.
